Sustainability

At Nicorette® our mission is to help quitters break free from tobacco and nicotine and ultimately create a world where we’re no longer needed. This commitment to a healthier world extends to the environment too. Click below for more information on our move to carbon neutral energy sources at our manufacturing plant in Helsingborg, Sweden* and our future plans to become even more sustainable.

Manufacturing using carbon neutral energy sources

We’re proud that our manufacturing site in Helsingborg, Sweden* has been independently certified to be carbon neutral for all energy sources across manufacturing, warehouse and research & development facilities. This means we’ve been able to reduce the carbon emissions from Helsingborg from 5012 tonnes of CO2 per year to zero, which is the equivalent of taking 1000 cars off the road**! This has been achieved by improving energy efficiency to reduce the amount of energy we use and sourcing energy from sustainable and certified sources such as district heating and biogas.

Our work to reduce the amount of plastic we use

We are also working on reducing the amount of plastic we use across our Nicorette® range of products. Alongside meeting external regulatory requirements, our primary concern is always the safety and quality of our products. To be safe and effective, our Nicorette® packaging must maintain the high quality of the product, including providing moisture and oxygen protection. Finding alternative sustainable materials that can deliver the protection needed to ensure you get a high quality product, is not always easy but we are committed to achieving this and look forward to sharing new updates with you soon.

**A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. This assumes the average gasoline vehicle on the road today has a fuel economy of about 22.0 miles per gallon and drives around 11,500 miles per year.
